Andreina Perez Hein

Chief Development & Stakeholder Relations Officer

Andreina Perez Hein joined Congreso as the Chief Development & Stakeholder Relations Officer in August 2021 after serving on the Board of Directors since 2015 and most recently as Board Chair from 2020-2021. Given her Board involvement with Congreso had been one of the most rewarding and fulfilling experiences of her career, it was a professional and personal ambition for her to join Congreso’s leadership team. Her role overseeing external relations, philanthropy and revenue generation for the Agency allows her to marry her personal passion of serving the Latino community with her professional propensity toward development and relationship cultivation.

Ms. Perez Hein has over 20 years of professional experience spanning strategic planning, business development, marketing, project management, and research across the nonprofit, education and commercial real estate sectors. Prior to joining Congreso and during her Board tenure, she served as the Vice President of Business Development for a commercial construction company based in Philadelphia for 7 ½ years. Throughout her 14-year career in the commercial real estate industry, she developed a track record of successfully developing and executing initiatives to cultivate new client relationships, secure business opportunities, and manage teams to carry out projects and achieve development goals for all the companies she represented.

Prior to her work in business development and marketing, Andreina served in management roles ranging from overseeing construction projects on active commercial construction sites to overseeing research project teams in the education and nonprofit sector. During her time as a Research Associate at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, she studied and worked closely with Latino communities across Central North Carolina to identify the needs, resources, and language development of young English Language Learners (ELLs) and their families being served by early childhood programs. Her interest in the underserved Latino community and related language studies were very much inspired by her own upbringing and early childhood language learning experiences.

As a first-generation Latina immigrant born in Caracas Venezuela, Ms. Perez Hein grew up in Miami, Florida with her parents and her sister since age five when they immigrated to the United States. She began grade school as a Native Spanish Speaker, learning English as a Second Language. She went on to obtain a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from The University of Miami in Coral Gables, FL with General, Phi Beta Kappa, and Summa Cum Laude Honors and a Master of Arts Degree in Early Childhood, Families, and Literacy Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, completing a Master’s Thesis on Second language acquisition in ELLs.

Ms. Perez Hein is a member of the Association for Fundraising Professionals (AFP) and Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) of Greater Philadelphia. She serves on CREW’s Diversity Equity and Inclusion Advocacy Group and Strategic Planning Task Force, and has been recognized as an MVP for her contributions over the years.

Ms. Perez Hein lives in Philadelphia with her husband, two young daughters, and their dog. In her spare time, she pursues her passion for cycling and running. She bike commutes and mountain bikes and is a member of the Bicycle Coalition of Philadelphia, Bicycle Club of Philadelphia and Guys Racing Team. She volunteered on the construction team for The Philly Pump Track, the first family-friendly bicycle park in Philadelphia. When not on a bicycle, she can be found trail running in the Wissahickon or on the Schuylkill River Trail usually with her dog, a jogging stroller, or a toddler on a bike. She strives every day to pass on her Venezuelan heritage and Spanish language skills to her daughters as lifelong gifts.
