Parenting Support Services engages parents/caregivers
by offering educational and supportive services tailored
to a specific audience: families at risk of re-entering
Child Protection Services; families with children involved
in the Juvenile Justice and Child Protection systems;
families that need to reduce the possibilities of abuse
and neglect; and parents who are current/former drug
and alcohol abusers.
Parents meet
for one class per week for approximately three hours.
These classes are based predominantly on Congreso's
Freedom to Change curriculum. The curriculum
utilizes behavior modification and dynamic approaches
to assist parents develop the parenting supports.
