Congreso to Host Free Women’s Health Conference

Por Nosotras Program to Conduct Cooking Demonstrations and Wellness Workshops

PHILADELPHIA— Congreso de Latinos Unidos, Inc., is conducting a day of interactive bilingual workshops for women Saturday, April 1. The conference focuses on health, nutrition, emotional wellness, and self-care.

This conference is free and open to the community, in accordance with Congreso’s mission to strengthen Latino communities through social, economic, education, and health services; leadership development, and advocacy. Breakfast will be served, and Congreso also will offer activities for children 5 and older.

Congreso’s Por Nosotras (“For Us”) program has served more than 500 women with mammogram referrals and provided screening navigation to over 700 women over the course of the past three years. The program raises awareness and promotes cervical and breast cancer screenings to underserved women in Eastern North Philadelphia, connecting to the community through one-on-one and group education as well as events. Por Nosotras is funded by the American Cancer Society and Aramark.
