Next Step – Job Readiness & Training
The Next Step Program offers members of the community who are between the ages of 17 – 24 years old (with a high-school diploma or GED diploma) free certification training and employment. Next Step is an in-person and hybrid program.
The Next Step Program’s primary certification training is healthcare. This program is an eight-week training course for students to become nationally certified in Phlebotomy and Medical Assistance. Classes are in-person at Congreso five days per week. Students engage in a mixture of lecture and lab work to learn clinical and administrative skills that prepare them for employment at hospitals, rehabilitation centers, nursing homes, blood banks, health care clinics, Urgent Care sites and other healthcare centers.
