Jannette Diaz is the Vice President of Health Promotion and Wellness Division. In this capacity she oversees the Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), HIV/AIDS Program (Esfuerzo), Latina Domestic Violence Program (LDVP), Health Intervention Prevention Program (HIP) and ELECT Program.
Ms. Diaz brings with her 27 years of knowledge and experience of working in the non-profit and for profit sector. Jannette started her career with the Archdiocese of Philadelphia working with youth involved in the Juvenile Justice System and the Department of Human Services. Jannette started as a Social Services Coordinator/Social Worker and worked her way up to Program Manager and Court Representative for the St. Gabriel’s System. Jannette is returning to Congreso as she was the Program Director for The Girls Center in 2001 where she oversaw the development and implementation of a gender specific extended day treatment center. As the Program Director for The Girls Center, Jannette maintained budgets and contracts with the Department of Human Services, Community Behavioral Health, the Office of Mental Health and the Bureau of Drug and Alcohol and School District of Philadelphia. The last ten years of Jannette’s career focused on working for Geo Group Inc. as the Director of Abraxas Youth and Family Services’ Philadelphia Regional Office. Under Jannette’s direction, the Philadelphia regional office offered a multitude of services ranging from in-home services, family counseling, educational support in the Philadelphia school district classroom, and reintegration services to adjudicated youth involved in the juvenile justice system. Jannette’s years of managing existing contracts and responding to new opportunities for her division allowed her to provide oversight to similar programs for Geo Group Inc. in Delaware and Allentown. Professional development is essential when supervising multiple programs and as a part of this, Jannette was able to connect community based resources with Abraxas Youth and Family Services to provide trainings for staff working with delinquent and dependent youth.
Most recently in 2014, Jannette joined the Pan American Board of Directors where she serves as Board Secretary. Jannette obtained a Bachelors of Science in Sociology with a concentration in Criminal Justice from Chestnut Hill University. Jannette resides in Philadelphia remaining connected to her roots as a member of The Giving Back to the Community where yearly events are sponsored and held to bring awareness to the Latino communities and provide fun activities for the children in the community. Jannette is a proud mother of two recent college graduates from Temple University.
